About this product
Xinxue (Shinsetsu) is a late, large-fruited Japanese variety grown in Taiwan's highland orchards such as Lishan — not one of the lowland top-grafted pears. Harvest runs from November to mid-January, making it the last pear of Taiwan's season; it is popularly called the "President's pear". The large, round fruit has smooth brown skin and juicy flesh that is sweet with a lively acidity and a strong aroma. Its thicker skin stores well, so fruit can be shipped in batches from cold storage — a good fit for year-end and Lunar New Year gift boxes.
