About this product
Guantian in Tainan is Taiwan's best-known water caltrop area, producing over 70% of the island's crop. Taiwan grows the two-horned type, whose shell turns purplish-black when mature around a white, starchy, sweet kernel with a chestnut-like texture. Harvested September to December, it is sold fresh in the shell or peeled and frozen for export.
